Profiles in Public Service - YNSA (SW) Craig Hollander

Yeoman Seaman Apprentice Craig Hollander was born in Alexandria, Virginia, on August 24, 1988, to Sarah and Ian Hollander.  He joined the United States Navy through the Delayed Entry Program in October 2006. On July 24, 2007, he reported to Naval Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes and upon completion he reported to Meridian, Miss. for Yeoman "A" School.  After graduation Hollander received orders to USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and reported on November 7, 2007, where he was placed in Executive Officers Administration.  After two months he was transferred to Operations Department where he currently works.

As a seaman apprentice, he qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare specialist.  He was recognized as the Blue Jacket of the Quarter for Fiscal Year 2008 Third Quarter for the Operations Department, USS Nimitz and carrier Strike Group 11.  He was further recognized as the Blue Jacket of the Year on board Nimitz.  He is currently working on a package to be submitted for the Nurses Corps via Seaman-to-Admiral 21.
