Randi began her public service career in 1994 interning for U.S. Representative Joe Barton during her undergraduate years at Southwestern University.  After graduation in 1995, she worked with the Texas Office of State-Federal Relations in Washington, D.C., for four years.  Randi started her career on the Hill in 1999 as a legislative assistant for U.S. Senator Michael Enzi and was later promoted to senior legislative assistant and state projects director.  During this period, she earned her master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University’s Public Policy Institute.  After a two-year departure to work as legislative director for U.S. Representative Michael C. Burgess, Randi returned to Senator Enzi’s team in 2005 to serve as legislative director.  She is a graduate of the Stennis Center’s 106^th Congress Emerging Leaders Program that identifies individuals demonstrating significant leadership potential during the early stages of their careers on Capitol Hill.  Randi is a recipient of the Public Leadership Education Networks’ “Mentor Award” and a founding member of the Senate Bipartisan Legislative Directors Group.  Randi is married to her husband, James Reid, and has three children – her daughter Calla and her sons Grayson and Beckett.  Although many people come to Capitol Hill to make broad, sweeping changes to public policy via the legislative process, the incremental policy changes and education to others about the federal government processes remain her most rewarding contributions to the public good.
