Tom has worked in U.S. Senator Kent Conrad’s office for 21 years. As legislative director, he manages a legislative staff of about 15 while advising Senator Conrad and his staff on opportunities and political leverage points to achieve legislative results. Tom’s first job upon completion of his bachelor’s degree from Cornell was as a legislative correspondent for Senator Conrad. After a year and a half, he began his master’s degree in public affairs at Princeton University where he was awarded a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship. Out of graduate school, Tom returned to Senator Conrad’s office. He was drawn to a life in public service as an undergraduate history major by the opportunity to be involved in decisions that shape the course of history. Outside of work, Tom is a licensed youth soccer coach.
