Since 2005, Joshua has served as a professional staff member on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. He specializes in many areas including energy efficiency, water policy, power production at federal facilities, procurement and acquisition initiatives as they relate to facility and operational energy and water use, and protection of critical infrastructure. For seven years, Joshua worked for the House Subcommittee on Water and Power as the staff director and a legislative staff member. In his first job on the Hill, he served as a legislative assistant for U.S Representative James V. Hansen for three years. Upon the completion of his bachelor's degree at the University of Utah, Joshua earned his master’s degree from the London School of Economics focusing on social policy and planning in developing countries. Recently he obtained a master's degree in national security and strategic studies from the United States Naval War College. Joshua's most rewarding aspect of his work on the Hill is the ability to be around smart, capable and intuitive people who want to serve their country. He is glad to witness the role that public policy can play in assisting the less fortunate and the role that it has played in improving lives. Joshua was a Stennis Fellow in the 111th Congress.
