Klug is the CEO of Wisconsin Trails Publishing company, based in Madison,
Wisconsin. Klug returned to journalism in January of 1999 after eight years
in Congress representing Wisconsin's Second Congressional District.
Wisconsin Trails is a forty year old multi-million dollar publishing company which produces magazines and books aimed at the Great Lakes travel industry. In Congress, Scott earned a national reputation for his fight to end wasteful government programs and slash red tape. In 1995, for example, he earned the first perfect scorecard in the history of the Concord Coalition. During his tenure, he developed an expertise in health care, telecommunications and environmental issues. Prior to his entry in politics, he was an emmy award winning investigative reporter working for television stations in Seattle, Washington, D.C. and his native Wisconsin. Klug earned his M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, a Masters in Journalism from Northwestern and his undergraduate from Lawrence University. This semester he holds the Nieman Chair at Marquette University Department of Communications. He also is affiliated with the law firm of Foley and Lardner. Klug serves on the national Board of Directors of the League of Conservation Voters, on the National Council of the World Wildlife Fund, and on the Board of the Sand County Foundation. He and his
wife Tess have three boys: Keefe (14), Brett (10), and Collin (7). |
